Music

Music and movement is a part of our routine curriculum and activities. To broaden our children’s experience, music teacher (also a Green Frog parent) Tom Holmes plays music with our children in both the morning and afternoon programs. Following music studies at College of Marin, Tom studied voice at the Judy Davis vocal school for five years and completed the audio engineering program at San Francisco State. As a performer, Tom is a singer and plays a number of instruments including guitar, drums, percussion and keyboards. He has played music at countless events, schools and churches. Tom believes music is an essential component of education which can serve to enhance other areas of learning.  At Redeemer, he regularly mixes up the children’s songs to show different tempo and feel, and plays a variety of musical instruments in their native style, including mandolin, ukulele, native American flute, and kalimba (thumb piano).
