Performing Arts
“Theatre education for children is the power of creative experience.” American Alliance of Theatre Education. Dramatic learning activities nurture and develop both individual and group skills and improve a child’s ability to communicate their ideas, images and feelings. Learning to be a good audience member is also an important and rewarding part of a performing arts experience for children, including careful observation and active listening. At Redeemer, we introduce performing arts in various ways including:
- Field trips to theatre performances by Youth In Arts;
- On-site puppet shows by Puppet Art Theatre Company;
- Magic shows by professional magicians; and
- Lion dance in the Spring.
