Parents
We have a commitment to the care of young children that respects the different cultures, lifestyles, preferences and needs of the families served. We follow an approach that is responsive to what the children and families bring to school and provide a nurturing and relationship-based learning environment.
We believe positive, caring relationships between our families and staff allow communication to flow naturally and smoothly. Each child is better understood, and the care between home and the preschool can be seamless. An easy give-and-take with families can make teachers feel valued and validated, and parents feel more settled and relaxed.
Parents’ involvement at Redeemer Preschool begins with orientation and socialization events with staff members, new and current parents. Parents are encouraged to participate in their children’s classroom activities, field trips, parent workshops, and other school events.
Twice a year, parent-teacher conferences are held to review a child’s learning style and developmental progress. The conference is the time for listening and communicating openly with the teachers. Parents are also welcome to schedule other times to meet with their teachers throughout the year, if needed.
To ensure that our program continues to meet the needs of the children and families served, a survey is conducted each year to obtain input from our parents pertaining to program quality and learning environment.
